Lets lift the lid on leaky bladders; Don't put up with it!
Put simply, we are becoming a brainwashed nation, believing that pelvic floor weakness whilst exercising, or simply living, is normal.
Women are doing more and more manual, heavy and high intensity activities and at rates that our internal organs simply can't cope with. The result is often a weak pelvic floor, which can be combined with an over sensitive bladder - you know, the urge that you have to go NOW! As well as
more serious issues like pelvic organ prolapse.
Last Mondays Radio 2 Jeremy Vine programme had a fantastic debate on Mesh surgery for female bladder incontinence ( http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0891nxdx ) . But it made me want to scream from the rafters... DON'T LEAVE IT TOO LATE!
Work with a professional, as soon as you start to be aware of changes to your pelvic floor.
So, if you love exercise, or are desperate to get fit, but don't know where to start with your core and pelvic floor, then please please... book yourself in and start real, whole body, core training.
